30 - The End

Image
The video above is my "goodbye song" for this blog. As with all good things, I believe that the "life of this blog" has come to an end. The time has finally come for me to start packing my bags and start blogging elsewhere. To tell you all the truth, when I made this blog, it was originally titled "Just One Yesterday" (named after Fall Out Boy's song) as you can see from this earlier screenshot of my Blogger Dashboard. The reason behind the name was that I was having trouble adjusting to my new college life, and that I missed my high school days. Because, actually, the central topic of this blog was supposed to be how high school is better than college. That was the case at first; however, I soon realized that college is actually far better than high school. I spent a few days coming up with a new title for this blog, and since it was around July (my "improve everything" phase), I decided to name this blog "A Better To...

29 - Missing My First Term

Image
Oh man, my second term at Asia Pacific College has just started and, well, it is . . . not what I expected. It is hard to say but, man, do I wish I could go back in time to the start of my  all-English term . Looking back, my English term was (actually) great. I mean, 3 (and a half) months ago, I was just starting out at Asia Pacific College. Now I am not gonna lie, the first few weeks were tough and scary. I had to adjust from my easy-going high school life to my tough life in college. I had to learn how to commute home, what to do and where to go whenever I could not find a jeep going home, and how to fit in to my new environment. Speaking of things I am going to miss, I am also starting to miss my professors and subjects last term. I miss the chills and nervousness I would get whenever I would speak in front during my Public Speaking 1 and Public Speaking 2 classes. I miss having to correct multiple sentences for parallelism in my  Grammar and Composi...

16 - Unoriginal: The Perils of Copying and Pasting

Image
(This is going to be a relatively short post, as I am already making another post with a different topic.) I have been browsing the blogs of my blockmates and I was shocked to find out that some of the content on the blogs of my blockmates WERE PLAGIARIZED WORKS . How can I say that? Well, truth be told, it was very easy to spot them. The not-so-perfect formatting of the text, the different font, the background, and the semi-perfect grammar really rings bells inside my head, notifying me that a particular blog post was filled with plagiarized works. Honestly speaking, it is  EXTREMELY EASY TO SPOT PLAGIARIZED WORKS . Let me give you an example: As you can see, it is extremely easy to spot that this is plagiarized work. The background is white and it does not match the background color of the post body. The same goes for the text, it matches the copied background and it looks very out of place. Last but not least, if you ...
