11 - The Answer

After a long time searching for an answer, I finally found the answer to most of my life's problems. I have to say, it was hard, and confusing, to say the least. In fact, it took me a lot of time to find it, but eventually, and through the help of others (namely one person in my block who really helped me out the most). Man, was it a great discovery. My day was already great and then this just made everything better. To be honest, I am still extremely happy about things. I have finally found the answer that fades as the dawn breaks! EUREKA! — Dartegnian (@Dartegnian) June 29, 2015 It is as if I found some sort of way to keep me motivated and inspired for a lot of days to come. And I celebrated by finally redesigning my Twitter profile in order to match this "newfound inspiration." New profile look :) pic.twitter.com/HW2y3NQJ6Y — Dartegnian (@Dartegnian) June 29, 2015 I will end my post here, I will keep it short and sweet, for now. Ha

10 - Confusing the Messenger with the Message

As luck would have it, I am currently shocked and, most of all, afraid to know the current state of my heart. I asked different students at my college, Asia Pacific College (APC), and they said it was a normal thing to do, but there are certain restrictions as to what I can do and what I cannot do. Oh, and before I get into this topic, I will be extremely vague here ; however I will make it clear that I am talking about the girl I have a crush on and what is happening to me now. Despite that, I won't say her name nor will I ever mention her in this blog (maybe in the near future). I just hope she won't be reading this. That being said, I will now start this post. I have left some clues on who the girl is, and if you don't personally know me, you can still piece together some of the clues I have left in this blog. Anyway, over the past few weeks or so, I have been debating with myself over the merits of this whole love thing. I asked some of my friends at APC i

9 - A Rocky Start, but Nevertheless a Good Monday

Image
Ah, Monday, my favorite day of the week . Yes, you read that correctly, Monday is literally my favorite day of the week . What is it makes me like Mondays so much? Is it because of the lineup of my professors I have for the day? (Miss Mina first, then our extremely-smart professor in College Algebra who is an engineer, or— my favorite professor of all— Dok Leng .) Is it the thought of seeing my blockmates and fellow APCians again? Surely, what is causing my Mondays in Asia Pacific College to a little better than my Mondays in high school? Oh, there it is again, the two dreaded words: high school . Let me just get this out here for all of you to know: I HATED Mondays in high school . Monday was the equivalent of the guy in a surprise party who yells "Surprise!" and then proceeds to throw the birthday cake to the face of the birthday girl/boy. Monday was the old-looking guy in a shady-looking van asking little kids if they want to come in his van to enjoy "candies

8 - The Dawn of a New Tomorrow

Image
Wow, Windows 10 with the wallpaper of OS X El Capitan looks absolutely breathtaking. Starting Monday onwards, I will start to incorporate the things I have learned from the mistakes that I have been repeating. I will start focusing on my studies instead of other superficial matters (e.g. love, romance, getting a girlfriend, etc.) and I will start to focus on joining the clubs that I have signed up for—APC Speaks and the APC Microsoft Community, to be exact. Hopefully I will belong in those clubs and I will get along with most of the members there. As I have mentioned before, I will be using my inspiration as the main driving force behind all of the college-related activities I am currently doing. I will be honest here: I did not have an inspiration back in high school. Yes, you read that correctly, I did not have a reason worth fighting for , nor did I have a bunch of people counting on me back then (or so I thought). College is different, and it totally is, my

7 - Repeating the Same Mistakes

First of all, my first three weeks in college was  AWESOME ! They were great, they were filled with fun and exciting moments. Despite that, I noticed that I still have made some mistakes that I made in high school. Let me tell you a secret: When my first term was about to start, I went to my friend's house, Jose Capacia, to talk about the things I should and should not do in college. He was great for telling all those things and he really seemed like he already knew a lot about college. (We are both freshmen this year, but he will study in La Salle.) He also told me that I should not repeat the same mistakes I have made in high school—say, for example, not speaking up and not letting my voice be heard. I have a myriad of things I have done in high school that really killed the whole high school for me. I am not afraid to admit them and here they are: I was obsessed on trying to get a girlfriend, I focused on love more than my studies, I did not care for whatever happened

6 - How to Make a Blog on Blogger

Image
My blockmates needed a tutorial, so I was asked to make one for them. This tutorial is going to be short, sweet, and to the point. Assuming that you already have a Google+ profile, you should see a page like this if you are going to open Blogger for the first time. Just click Continue to Blogger and follow the other steps. If you DO NOT have a Google+ profile , just click Switch to a limited Blogger profile and choose a display name. Once you are done, just click Continue to Blogger . Step 1: Go to Blogger  and log in using your Google account and set up your profile. You should see this page once you log in. Step 2: Click on the New Blog  button on the upper-left corner. Type your last name followed by your first name on the blog address. Just add a title for your blog and type in your last name followed by your first name in the address field. So, if your name is Justin Parado , your blog address should be: http://paradojustin.blogsp

5 - Writing a Novel

What is up, readers? I have some exciting news for you all in this post (: Judging from the title, you could clearly see that I am writing a novel, and no , it is not an assignment, nor it is an activity I should do for my midterm or finals. It is something that I want to make, it will be a work of passion —a burning desire for writing and sharing out my thoughts. Because it is something I thought of and I will do on my own, the process of making it is going to be great. No criteria, no rules, no " this should have a minimum of this and that " and it will be a work of pure and unrestricted art. Since I will be doing this own, I do not have a general direction for my upcoming novel. That is good and bad at the same time; good because it can be whatever I want it to be—whether it is a dark comedy, an inspiring story, a romance novel, or something else; not having a general direction is also bad because I have to set everything for the novel—the language, settin

4 - Goodbye, Gaming!

Image
Steam's Big Picture splash screen brings back so many memories. Ah, Steam . Truth be told, Steam is was the place/website/service that I would most often use on my laptop. Every single time my laptop booted up, Steam would also boot up. On a few occasions, I plugged my laptop to my TV using an HDMI cable, started big picture, and played on the TV because my laptop only has a maximum resolution of 1366x768 . I have to say, it was paradise (for me, that is). Then, I got addicted to buying games and expanding my Steam library. I focused on getting games more than playing them. Heck, I even remember not eating in school and saving up my money for a sale for a game that I have on my wishlist—which made my best friends and classmates furious when they found out. I kept collecting more games by the week, and—to be frank—there was not a week that went by where I would not get a new Steam game in my library. It was madness . I got so addicted to collecting games, I even went t

3 - My Inspiration

Image
College is starting to get hard . Although it is just the beginning/the start of college, I am starting to feel laziness creeping up on me. It is as if there is someone over my shoulder saying, " Hey kid, listen to me. That assignment you have to pass for Sir Deeno , you can postpone it until Thursday. Remember that blog that Sir Dustin asked you do make? You can postpone it. " I really hate it when that happens—laziness starts to get the best of me. But no, not this time. Laziness won't even get to me, and even if it does, I have the ultimate weapon against it— an inspiration . Yes, I actually found an inspiration, something to spur me into doing better things, something that pushes me to the library in order to read books in advance, something that lifts some of the weight off my beaten-to-death shoulders . My inspiration is not an old girlfriend (I never had one), nor is it an old love interest, no. My inspiration is a group of people who are rooting

2 - 10 Reasons Why College Is Better Than High School

Oh boy, this is going to be a hard one, but here goes nothing. Just a reminder: I did not use the topic generator that Sir Dustin wanted us to use. I want to make my own topics and, being a former editor and a writer, I am sure I can make my own. So, without any further ado, here are 10 reasons why college is better than high school. 1. More freedom I have more freedom in college that I ever had in high school. I am not required to cut my hair every month or wear a uniform everyday. Heck, I am even allowed to go anywhere during my 2-hour break, and I love it. 2. The dress code There are no uniforms in my college, but there is a dress code. I got sick of wearing the same batch of uniforms day after day after day after day in high school. The same white polo shirt almost every week (of course, we do not wear uniforms on special occasions) from Monday to Friday every year for the past 5-6 years. In APC, we have to wear business attire from Monday to Thursday and we wear

1 - This Blog and My Main Blog

Image
As you probably know by now, I have two blogs. I created this blog because it is a requirement of the English Enrichment Program . First and foremost, you will notice that the template of this blog is very similar to the template of my main blog . That is because THIS IS AN OLD TEMPLATE . I actually designed this template back in 2014 when I thought, " Hmm, I should take a break from the dark template and change it into something lighter. " And thus, this template was born. I actually have other templates that I have stockpiled in my OneDrive account just in case I need to change my theme. I'm curious to know if I can copy some of the post I originally made from my main blog to this blog. Is it still considered plagiarism if I copied my own original content? I'm not really sure, but if it is, then it's going to be really hard to make posts for 2 blogs. Not only is that hard, it's also difficult. However, I realized that any form is plagiarism is
